Never-Enuff B.B.S.

Welcome to Never-Enuff Bulletin Board Service website.

Never-Enuff has been around since 1991 in various forms (Procomm, Telix, PowerBBS, just name a few), in 1994 Never-Enuff  settled in the Excalibur Communications BBS GUI format for maximum caller viewing experience.

Never-Enuff B.B.S. was offline for a few years due to a fire and most of the original screens and plugins (doors) were lost, so we rebuilt it from scratch and the help of several other Excalibur SysOps still running Excal.

The Excalibur client will run on Windows 3.x / 9.x / 2000 / XP and some have reported Vista as well. We have not tried running it with Windows 7 yet, so are unsure. There was never a client made for Mac's (sorry Mac Guys), but if you have a Windows Emulator it may run. (let us know if you have success).

Getting connected it easy, Download the Windows client software located  HERE.   When you go to install the program, be sure to install in in the "C:\EXCAL" directory.

NOTE: (If you have Yahoo messenger open, please close it during the install as it seems hang the installer, after the installation is complete you can reopen yahoo).

After the installation is complete, start the Excalibur, it will ask you to fill in your user settings and modem settings.  The modems setting can be left at the default as you will be connecting via the internet,  Next,  goto "System" then "Dialing Dir", once in the dialing directory, click "NEW ENTRY" and add "System Name:" Never-Enuff B.B.S. then "PHONE/INTERNET:"  @bbs.never-enuff.com then "PASSWORD:"  enter your desired password to use on this system, the other fields should be filled in already.  Click "OK", you will be taken back to the Dialing Directory, highlight Never-Enuff B.B.S. and click "DIAL" you should be connected to Never-Enuff B.B.S.  Happy BBS'ing!!

Update on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1 Compatibility.

Although the Excalibur client will not run natively on these systems, you can now run an older version of Windows inside your existing Windows installation.  To start you will need a old copy of Windows installation software, available cheap on ebay, (win 95, 98, ME, NT 3.51 or 4.0 or XP will work fine) then you will need to download the free copy of Oracle Virtualbox software from https://www.virtualbox.org/  and install it.  Then just read the easy too follow directions and install your copy of windows in the virtualbox and you will be ready to go.  Now just install the Excalibur client as listed above.

12-12-2015:  GREAT NEWS.

It looks like we can still run the Excalibur client in new versions of Windows for a while longer using a virtual machine.   I plan to evaluate this in the very near future and update this page based on my experience installing and getting it running.  But for now, take a look at these pages and happy BBS'ing
